This exhibit addresses the topic of suicide, exploring it through artistic expressions and educational materials. These materials may be emotionally challenging or triggering for some individuals. While the intention is to raise awareness, foster understanding, and encourage dialogue, we understand the importance of personal well-being. Please exercise self-care and consider your emotional readiness before engaging with the exhibit. If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts or needs immediate support, please reach out to one of the resources posted below and throughout the exhibit.
September is Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month. The UNM HSC Wellness Consortium is proud to host this exhibition to raise awareness about suicide and suicide prevention, to share important resources, and to spread hope to people affected by suicide.
UNM undergraduate students painted these pictures in response to being asked to paint an image of hope for Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month. We hope that as you make your way through the gallery, you see and feel the hope expressed by our students. Their art challenges us to recognize that we are not alone, we are part of a community, and help is always available. Their art reminds us of the love and the good that is in this world.
